Shortlisted for The Masters Review’s 2020 Flash Fiction Contest

So excited to announce that an excerpt from my novel-in-progress was shortlisted for The Masters Review’s 2020 Flash Fiction contest! Usually I never get anywhere with writing contests, so this is actually my first shortlist ever. Based on some number crunching I did, I had a less than 1% chance of making it to the shortlist. So nuts.

I’ll find out in about a month if the judge, author Sherrie Flick, has chosen my flash story to win a cash prize. But it’s such an honor in and of itself to have made it to the last round, so you won’t find me complaining even if I don’t place in the contest.

Update: I unfortunately did not place in the contest, but I did find out that my story had been one of fifteen chosen for the shortlist out of 2,700+ entries! So, I feel good regardless!
